Welcome to the Neighborhood - Last part added! & Pictures and opinion of our day at Universal and Islands of Adventure, Florida
Hello, my fellow WOE Friends,
Happy Birthday to Martin Luther King Jr.
Jennifer, Sally and I visited the church Mr. King preached at, the house he grew up in, the Martin Luther King Jr. Museum and his final resting place outside in Atlanta, GA., back in 2013. It was very heartwarming and inspirational. If you're in that area, do check it out.
I have uploaded the conclusion of Elevator in the Graveyard on the Website. Click the picture below to take you there tn finish reading.
Jennifer and I went to Universal Studio's and Island of Adventure on Saturday, January 19. We stayed for about four hours, and I took quite a few pictures. I put them in a slide show video if you'd like to check them out (see below). There are some pictures you may not ordinarily see from other Vloggers or Bloggers. I also took a few picks of prices of food, the new lockers for storing your items at The Men in Black, and the line for the Express Passes in front of IOA
Because it was a long weekend, the parks did fill up around 11:00 am. Wait times started approaching an hour or more for many of their popular rides: Despicable Me, Rip Ride Rocket, The Hulk, Spider-Man, Escape from Gringotts and Forbidden Journey. When I inquired about the Express Passes, their prices ranged from $60.99 for one park, after 4 pm, Once Per Attraction and went up to $159.99 for both parks, unlimited Attraction visits.
A father and daughter in front of me paid over $248.00 for Express Passes for both parks at 2 pm, and the parks were only open until 8 pm.
To me, it's way too much! But, if you only have so much time and have the money, then I guess you would benefit. We have personally done many of the rides and attractions in the past, so for us, we wouldn't consider it. However, if you wanted to take advantage of great value, check in to staying at one of their top tire hotels where you get free Express Pass privileges for the night you're visiting and the next day.
You could sleep at least four to a room, and each person would get to use their hotel key card for their Express Pass for unlimited visits. But it must be at their top hotels: Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, and Royal Pacific. They can get pricey, but work out the math and see if it works for you and your budget. Remember when comparing the Express Passes, the prices to vary depending on how crowded the parks are.
Jennifer and I did have a nice visit, but we also didn't wait for any attractions since they became too busy. We did ride a few when we first got to IOA.
Here are my top attractions/rides and what I think are the best they have to offer. These are not in any order.
Rip Ride Rocket
Escape from Gringotts
Hogwarts Express - both ways
If you have time, then definitely ride.
Men In Black
Race Through New York
There are some attractions and rides for the little ones that are quite good.
Reign of Kong starts out as a great attraction, then has an abrupt ending, as does Fast and the Furious. Both attractions were literally lifted from the Hollywood Back Stage Tour, with added pre-shows, and it shows.
A great show is the Horror Make-up Show.
Hope you enjoy the conclusion of the Elevator in the Graveyard and the pictures.
Thanks for reading! Until next time,
