Hello, my WOE Friends!
Welcome back from the weekend! I hope you had a little fun and quality family time.
Jennifer and I went to a Major League baseball game on Friday and were given field passes by a friend. We watched the players in batting practice and warm up catching balls on the field. I couldn't believe the prices they were charging for food and drinks! $5.00 for a bottle of water. $10 for a can of beer. Jennifer and I purchased a refillable cup for $10.50. The thought was we could get as much water as we wanted. But, we got soda instead. And being we are trying to lose weight, that made it a bad choice. What made it worse is how we refilled it a few times to "get our money's worth." Not smart on our end at all.
We are going to start our diet very seriously when we get back from vacation. I know, we say it all the time. But we have too! I don't want to carry this weight as we continue to get older. I want to lose it before health problems start to arise.
Speaking of vacation - we will be embarking on our road trip June 11 - 19th. But I am hoping to take you all along by keeping you updated with my blogs and Peter's pics. I'll be sending pictures right to our Instagram Page as I capture them.
I have included the latest HR Picture: I'll start my diet tomorrow. Where do you think that idea came from?
The WOE Short Story: Back to the Elevator in the Graveyard, Part 4. is now online! Alex tries out his new Magic Persuasion with a simple handshake. Find out on who and if it worked. Click the ad below to start reading or find it in the WOE Short Stories section.
This Week's WOE Expansion Update: Funland - NEW VRE Extreme Go Cart City Race!
OK. Most of us love driving go-carts. I love them because I can drive. Due to my poor eyesight, I can't drive on the roads. So driving these guys are going to be a lot of fun! But one thing we're not supposed to do while driving go-carts is to bump each other. Until NOW! The new VRE (Virtual Reality Experience), Extreme Go-Cart City Race, is one you can tear up the competition on.
Each racer and navigator gets into a go-cart racer, complete with a real racing steering wheel, and gas/brake pedals. It even has sensors to let you know when a sharp curve is coming up, or a sharp incline or descent is. Each car is equipped with a GPS monitor, which your navigator/passenger will use to help you get to your destination.
Just like the technology used for Galactic War, the Systems Engineering team are using the same plasma domes over each racer.
But it gets even better! There will be other cars on the road. Because you are illegally racing through a major world city. The city will be chosen randomly. And yes, you will be driving up on sidewalks, through the subways, and even through parks. Thirty drivers will start at one end of a world-renowned city and race to the finish line. There will be a first, second, and third place winner. Each will have their picture taken in the Winner's Circle.
Bump and push the other racers, even the taxi cabs, out of your way! Watch the pedestrians, though. Each one hit causes you a five-second penalty. You can feel the impact of hitting another car from behind (not full effect though, of course. We don't want any whiplash).
The cops will be chasing you, and you will hear a lot of horn honking from the city drivers. Each ride will last approximately twenty minutes. Reservations are recommended, but not required.
I can't wait for this to open. The New Complex is coming along. It's getting better and better!
Thanks for reading! Until next time,
